Occasionally creatures killed will drop an item called a Mana Stone. These are stones that each have a stat bonus associated with them such as +20 Parry or +3 Attack. These stones can be applied to any of your equipment that has a Mana Stone slot available (which can be seen by hovering the pointer over that piece of equipment in your inventory. Adding stones to the player's equipment allows them to customize their character somewhat, and can be done by right clicking on the stone to activate it, and then left clicking on the piece of equipment to add it to. Only chest, legs, shoulders, hands, and foor armor, as well as main and offhand weapons contain mana stone slots. The number of slots can be seen from the item's tooltip, but in general the number of slots is linked to the quality of the item.

There is a chance of failure when attempting to socket a mana stone. If an attempt fails, all mana stones that were previously socketed in the item are destroyed as well as the one that was being attempted. There is a higher chance of failure when attempting to socket a powerful mana stone in a low level item. Mana stones can also be removed from an item for a fee, by visiting a mana stone vendor (NPC) in most major towns and cities.
